Although there are more complex beer analysis charts, this one is intended to give the average beer drinker a general guide to how beer colour is generally referenced, and where their beer may fit in to this scale.
Beer styles have certain specifications, and that is only important if you’re entering competitions and trying to win with the proper technical specifications. Otherwise, your beer colour can range widely.
